Emerging Market Advisory

Project origination and verification in emerging markets — telecoms infrastructure, energy supply contracts, infrastructure project mandates.

Three decades of relationships across telecoms regulators, ministerial offices, and infrastructure project developers across Africa, MENA, and the Caribbean produces a particular kind of advisory practice: ground-truth assessment, ministerial-level introductions, and structuring of opportunities that often arrive without formal due-diligence documentation.

The kind of work we do

Project origination — identifying real infrastructure opportunities with a path to commercial close, distinguished from the speculative project paperwork that circulates without a path. Verification — checking the principals, the regulatory permission, the offtake, the financing, the construction reality, before a serious counterparty commits resources. Structuring — taking a project that is real but unbanked and helping it reach a structure that institutional capital can engage with.

Where we focus

Telecoms infrastructure across West Africa — including the live Sierra Leone telecoms RFI engagement. Energy supply contracts across MENA, particularly refined products and gas. Infrastructure project mandates across the Caribbean, particularly the Latin American adjacency. Selected work across Eastern Europe where the relationships are real.

How an advisory engagement works

Most engagements begin with a single meeting where the project owner walks through what they have. Within a week of that meeting we either decline (most projects do not survive ground-truth assessment) or we structure an engagement around verification, structuring, and selective introduction. Engagement fees are project-specific and disclosed up-front. There are no retainers.

Why this practice exists

Because the alternative — relying on whatever introducer turns up with whatever deck — produces the wrong outcomes for everyone involved. Real projects deserve a real introducer. Real institutional capital deserves real verification. The practice exists to do both, and to walk away from the work that is neither.
